I post here because I think amazing things happen at the intersection between art and science, intuition and data, old and new, and wherever else worlds overlap, or collide.

It’s the reason why I love The Art of Looking Sideways and Pretty Much Everything.

I’m interested in behavioural science and architecture, design and photography, documentaries and podcasts, film and music.

So the content here is quite varied. I think/hope that’s a good thing.

I’m husband to Nayeli, father to two boys (Oscar and Mateo), and partner at Hotfoot Design. I post here and at the Hotfoot blog.

I previously co-founded the digital ad company Azullo and worked at the Red Consultancy in London. In my early twenties I co-founded a design magazine sold in the UK and several other countries. I’ve written for The Guardian, The Drum, Campaign and other titles; and I’ve spoken at events in London and Berlin.

I support the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA), and you can too by donating here.

You can follow me on Twitter @guycookson, this is my Linkedin profile, I have some playlists on Spotify, I post photos on Instagram, and you can send me a message here.

I’m interested in tracing my family background. My grandmother, Nina Luschwitz, was born in India, to parents of mostly German and Portuguese/Indian descent. She married my grandfather, whose father was from Dublin, when he was posted to India during the Second World War, after my grandmother had lost her first Dutch husband in a motorcycle accident. If you can help with that, let me know.

All opinions expressed here are my own, unless they’re someone else’s, in which case I hope I gave credit.
